Surfing in Indonesia
Indonesia is country of many islands – more than 17,000. This is one of the reasons why surfing is popular on many of the islands. There are good waves for beginners and advanced surfers alike. One of the most popular surfing destinations is Bali. There are over 20 premium breaks on the two southern coasts of Bali. G-Land is a surfing spot known worldwide.
The best breaks in Bali include the Medewi (4-6ft.), Kuta Reef (4-5ft), Balangan (4-8ft), Bingin (3-5ft), Impossibles (4-8ft), Padang Padang (5-8ft), and Uluwatu (3-10). Most breaks are highest during the Dry Season, which is between May and September, but may vary throughout the years. There are many surfing schools and camps in Indonesia, that will gladly teach those with no experience how to ride a wave.
