Gunung Kawi Indonesia

An 11th century temple complex located at Bali islands of Indonesia is a famous pilgrim center in Indonesia. It is perfectly placed in a scenic location in the River Pakrisan. This oldest temple complex encloses 10 rock cut shrines carved into the astonishingly beautiful hillsides of Ubud region. There is a tomb nearby built to honor the 11th century king of the region.

The surroundings are picturesque with lusting green paddy fields and the environment is calm for a secluded stay. Gushing water all through the sides makes the atmosphere cool and humid. The beautiful views of surrounding river from the premises of the temple are really mind blogging. The temple constructions are real specimens of medieval Indonesian architectural excellence. One can reach the temple pavilion by using the small bridge across the river. It is a peaceful location for those who look for seclusion.
